Why Brand Owners Are Sourcing Ready-Made Korean Ampoule Formulas
Building a skincare brand from a blank formula takes months and a real R&D budget. Most brands don’t need that — they need a proven, documented formula they can put their own name on, with room to adjust it later once the product is selling.
That’s the gap a Korean OEM/ODM ampoule program fills. Instead of starting from zero, you choose from a library of finished, lab-developed formulas and move straight to branding, packaging, and sampling.
We work with Zenith Lab Co., Ltd., a Seoul-based cosmetics manufacturer, on a 10-line ampoule collection built specifically for this kind of sourcing. Here’s what’s in it, how the private label process actually works, and what to check before you commit to a formula.
The 10-Line Collection at a Glance
Each line targets a different skin concern. They’re not 10 versions of the same base — they’re grouped around distinct core actives, so you can pick based on the positioning your brand needs.
| # | Line | Core Actives | Positioning |
|---|---|---|---|
| 01 | MEDIA | PDRN + Caviar Complex | Balanced, comfort-focused conditioning |
| 02 | AESTETIUM | Cica Complex, Snail Mucin, Retinol | Professional / clinical aesthetic care |
| 03 | NERYS | High-concentration PDRN + Centella | Intensive calming for sensitive skin |
| 04 | VALIER | Hydrolyzed Collagen + Elastin | Classic firmness and elasticity |
| 05 | ORVIA | 5-Peptide Complex | Everyday barrier care, entry-tier peptide |
| 06 | SYLENE+ | 15-Peptide Complex + Caviar | Advanced peptide conditioning (full profile here) |
| 07 | AURYS | 8-HA (multi-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid) | Deep, long-lasting hydration |
| 08 | CELVORY | PDRN + Herbal Complex | Skin texture refinement, volumizing |
| 09 | NOÉVIA | Peptide Complex + Beta-Glucan + Panthenol | Natural, gentle daily conditioning |
| 10 | Joseon Beauty | Guaiazulene + Centella | Traditional-inspired soothing care |
A few of these sit on the same active-ingredient axis at different tiers. ORVIA (5-peptide) and SYLENE+ (15-peptide) are both peptide-conditioning formulas — ORVIA positioned as an everyday entry option, SYLENE+ as the advanced, fully documented flagship. If you’re building a good-better-best line, that pairing does the work for you.

White Label vs. Private Label / ODM — What’s the Real Difference
Both options exist, and they lead to very different timelines and costs. Worth understanding before you request a quote.
White label — you take an existing formula as-is and change the brand name, container, label, and box design. No reformulation, no new testing. This is the fastest and cheapest way to launch, and it’s the default path for any of the 10 lines above.
Private label / ODM — you request changes to the actual formula: active ingredient concentration, texture, scent, or color. This gets you a differentiated product, but it also means new sample development and updated stability/safety testing before production, which adds lead time and cost. If your brand identity depends on a formula no competitor can match exactly, this is the route — just plan for it.
Neither is a matter of a “better” or “worse” package — it’s a tradeoff between speed and differentiation. Most first-time private label brands start with white label on one line to test the market, then move to ODM customization once they know the formula sells.
Documentation — What’s Confirmed and What Isn’t
This is the part buyers skip and regret later. Here’s the honest state of the documentation across the collection:
- COA, MSDS, and stability/microbiological test reports are generally available across the collection when the formula is produced as-is.
- Dermatological / irritation testing is not uniform across all 10 lines — some formulas have it completed, some don’t yet. If irritation testing matters for your market or your brand claims, confirm it per formula before you commit, not after.
- If you request a formula change under the ODM route, all safety and stability documentation needs to be regenerated against the new formula — the original product’s paperwork doesn’t carry over automatically.
- Country-specific registrations (EU CPNP, US FDA cosmetic listing) are not pre-completed for this collection. They get initiated once your target market and order are confirmed.
SYLENE+ is currently the most fully documented line in the collection — full COA, MSDS, stability, microbiological, and irritation testing already completed, with FOB pricing and MOQ confirmed. It’s a useful reference point for what “fully ready” documentation looks like on the other lines once you request it.
MOQ and Lead Time
Structure is consistent across the collection, though final pricing is confirmed per formula once you inquire:
| Order Type | MOQ | Lead Time |
|---|---|---|
| Pilot order | 300 units | 4–6 weeks from PO confirmation |
| Standard order | 1,000 units | 4–6 weeks from PO confirmation |
| Bulk order | 5,000+ units | Contact for quote |
ODM formula changes add sample development and re-testing time on top of the standard lead time — expect this to be discussed and scoped when you submit a customization request, not assumed upfront.
How to Start
- Pick a line (or two) based on the positioning your brand needs — moisture, peptide conditioning, PDRN recovery, or barrier/soothing.
- Decide white label or ODM based on your timeline and how differentiated you need the formula to be.
- Request the documentation relevant to your target market — don’t assume it exists until it’s confirmed for that specific formula.
- Start with a sample order through Alibaba Trade Assurance before committing to bulk — it protects both sides on payment and delivery.
